Blu-ray discs: An ideal alternative to HD-DVD
Blu-ray discs are commonly used by high definition televisions for their enhanced picture quality. These highly compatible discs are appreciated for giving edge to the home entertainment industry. They are mainly optical disc and offer larger storage capacity than old storage devices such as cheap CDs and DVDs. Apple, Dell, HP, Hitachi, JVC and many others have introduced Blu-ray devices. Blue lasers provide great accuracy and exhibit shorter wavelengths. This in turn means, that by utilizing Blu-ray you can store greater amount of data. Thus, Blu-ray can allow you to store and record massive data.
Generally, this optical disc storage media device is required for advanced video and data storage. This disc can offer up to 9-hour HD video and SD video storage. This can easily run for 23 hrs on dual play Blu-ray disc. This overall means that it require less recording power and disk rotation speed than cheap DVDs and HD DVDs. Common problem that companies are facing while developing multiple layer Blu-ray discs are with regards to clear and stable signals from each recording layer. Pioneer has launched 16-layer blu-ray disc that can play back superior signals from each player.
