Altec Lansing inMotion iM600: Docking Station for iPod
iM600 is the latest offering in Altec Lansing inMotion series. The new model offers better power and output compared to other such models of its category. The amazing docking audio for your iPod enables you to play the songs on your iPod with your friends in your room, on a picnic or any such place.
Design
The dock wears an attractive and stylish look in a rectangular shaped box that can be unfolded on the table. Its compact design allows it to pack large amounts of sound into a shockingly small space.
Connections
The dock’s connections are located on a panel at the back of the dock and are hidden when the stand is folded up. The connections include an AC-adapter and 1/8-inch auxiliary-input jack that enables you to connect the system’s AC adapter as well as an external audio source, respectively. A subwoofer-out jack provides compatibility with Altec Lansing’s BB2001 external subwoofer, and a composite-video jack lets you view videos and photos from a color, photo, or 5G iPod on a TV.
Also there is a mini-USB port that connects the iM600 to your computer and to sync your iPod with iTunes.
Features
iM600 boasts of an array of impressive features. One of its string features is the Expanded Sound Stage technology (ESS) which provides a sharp stereo effect by making the speakers sound further apart. The iM600 also features a stereo FM radio and can double as a clock radio when plugged in to an electrical outlet. From 76.0 to 108.0, in 0.1 increments, its FM tuner offers the widest tuning range.
iM600 includes a built-in rechargeable battery which charges in approximately three hours. The battery enables you to play music for seven hours at a stretch.
The dock comes with a remote control that offers the usual functions of an iPod. However, one feature missing on the remote control is the ability to navigate through your iPod’s menus.
In the final say, with great sound, video output, auxiliary input, remote control, FM radio, and a rechargeable battery the iM600 is incredibly versatile and prized at 90$-120$, it’s a worth buy.
