NCAA Basketball 10

The upcoming EA Basketball Sim, NCAA Basketball 10 is in the news again. The reason this time was the announcement by EA that Blake Griffin will feature on the game’s global official cover. The former Oklahoma Sooners power forward Blake Griffin has earned this opportunity because of his “explosive presence, exciting college stadiums with massive dunks, huge blocks, and aggressive rebounds”, EA stated in its press release. The player is a fair choice as he has won the Naismith, Sporting News, Associated Press, and John Wooden Player of the Year awards.

Griffin reacted as, “Seeing myself on the cover of NCAA Basketball 10 is such a great tribute to my time at Oklahoma. I loved playing in front of passionate fans and competing against some of the best schools in the country”.

The game will be powered by a new game engine that was unveiled last year. The engine redefines the core gameplay experience and supports “styles of play” and “set your tempo” features of this new game.

The game was suffering from legal problems as the Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller filed a lawsuit against EA, NCAA and the Collegiate Licensing Company in May 2009. The player protested against the use of athletes’ names and likeness in the NCAA franchise. The matter is still to be settled in the court.

In a fan vote, North Carolina was decided as the “toughest place to play” NCAA Basketball 10. The feature has been offered in the NCAA Basketball series games for quite a while now.
