Killzone 2 Review, PlayStation3

Killzone 2 is a first person shooter game developed by Guerilla Games and was released in February 2009 for the PlayStation platform.

Killzone 2 takes place on planet Helghan and is based on the footsteps of Killzone and Killzone:Liberation. The game’s based entirely from a first persons point of view and also includes a feature know as ‘lean and peek’. This feature allows the player to take cover behind an object and shield himself from gunfire, thereby enabling him to fight his enemies more effectively and avoid getting shot. As Killzone 2 is based on similar lines as its preceder, it has some weapons such as the M82-G and the StA-52 LAR.

Killzone 2 has some breath taking graphics and maps, and other elements present in the game are well crafted. These revamped graphics keep the gamer glued to the screen at all times. Blood spurts, sparks flying and detailed weapons add that extra spice to Killzone 2.

Enemies in the game are quick and intelligent. They wait till the firing recedes and only then proceed with an attack. In such a situation, the player can make use of his grenade and fling it in the enemy’s direction, thereby causing panic and driving them out of their shells.

Killzone 2 provides the player with many defensive options. The player can jump in to a robotic shell or even make utmost use of his transparent protective shield until it cracks and gives way. All said and done, Killzone 2 with its flawless Gameplay and well crafted graphics, certainly makes it one of the best single person shootout games available.
